Paper Sundaes challenge 20 - Kraft & Blue

Snow?  Snow?!  What's that you say?
Surely there won't be that today!
You did not know, you did not hear?
There will be snow all through this year!

Sorry about the bad play on Dr. Seuss!  LOL

Another Sunday and another Paper Sundaes Challenge!  This week our sponsor is our regular monthly sponsor, Simon Says Stamp!

The challenge this week is to use the colours Kraft and Blue.  For my card, I decided to pull out my Pure Innocence stamps and go with a clean and simple card.

Did you know that Simon Says Stamp now carries Pure Innocence stamps?!

For the layout I used the challenge at Stamped by Hand which is a sketch plus 3:  Kraft, Paper Piecing, and Twill.

Magnolia Tent Card

The current challenge at Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog is to create a tent card with a charm.  This is my first attempt at a tent card, but it was fun!

For my card I decided to use Princess Tilda, and colored her with distress inks.

Her crown is stickled with gold and pink.  You can see it a bit better at an angle to reflect the light:

I am also entering this into the following challenges:
Creative Card Crew:  Sketch
Papertake Weekly:  Say it with Flowers
Charisma Cardz:  3D

Paper Sundaes Nineteenth Challenge

Today marks the start of our 19th challenge at Paper Sundaes!  This week, the challenge is to create a card inspired by a book.

Tracey at Spesch provided each of the DT an image to play with.  For mine, I picked this super cute Kei with Butterfly Balloon image.  Here is my card:

My book inspiration comes from a manga book called Shuga Chara!

The layout comes from the current sketch challenge at Card Patterns.

I am entering this into the current challenge at Totally Gorjuss:  Bling it on! and the bling challenge on Papercraft Planet by Simon Says Stamp.  I am also entering it into the 2 Somethings challenge at Stamp Something, for the 2 patterned papers.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great Sunday!

A Tilda Birthday Explosion

Today I finally defied this cold or whatever it is that's holding me in it's nasty grips for the last month, and finally finished my Tilda Explosion box, only a week late for my daughter's birthday!  Luckily, she is very forgiving :D  If you've noticed that I haven't been commenting on your blogs, or if you've emailed me and I haven't responded, I hope you are just as forgiving as my daughter!  LOL...

This post is going to be very photo heavy, sorry!

This week at the Magnolia-licious Birthday Bash, they challenged us to make an Explosion box.  This was my first attempt ever.  I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with mine, but at this point I'm happy just to have it finished!  LOL!!  My daughter was thrilled, so I guess that's all that counts.

Since the lyrics to this Cinderella song are written in script around her room, this seemed very appropriate.  I did skip some of the lyrics just so that it would be appropriate for a birthday card.

I am also entering this into the following challenges:
Charisma Cardz:  3D
Papertake Weekly:  Say It With Flowers
Flutter By Wednesday's:  Flowers with Butterflys, fairies or angels
Allsorts Challenge Blog: Birthdays

Materials used:
Stamps: Flying Tilda, Bubbling Tilda
Papers:  DP- MME old stuff from stash, CS- American Crafts
Flowers:  Wild Orchid
Accessories:  Bling-unknown, Crystal Garland (hard to see in photos, tucked among her feet in the inside), Flower Soft, Star Dust stickles

Lady Tilda Easel Card

I can't believe it's Sunday, again!  I think I say that every week, but seriously, where does the time go?  Pretty soon another school year will be done and it will be summer!

At Paper Sundaes this week, the new challenge starting today is to create an easel card!  Our sponsor this week is Magnolia US, isn't that fantastic?!  I wish I was eligible to enter!

I decided to use this cute Lady Tilda  and the new Fairytale paper pack that arrived from Diana's store a few days ago!

Here is a shot of just the front, with the card closed:

And a close-up, at an angle so you can see the glitter!

Her crown is glittery too, I'm not sure if it is visible even in this photo.

I wanted a multi-purpose card, so I created my own sentiment on my computer which says "You are beautiful, inside and out!".

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you will come and join us at Paper Sundaes for this week's challenge!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Card Positioning Systems:  sketch
Magnolia Stamp Lovers:  Make it Dimensional
Cute Card Thursday:  Someone Special

Belles 'n Whistles Watering

While at the scrapbook store this weekend, I fell in love with this new paper from October Afternoon called 'Go Fly a Kite', and I knew I wanted to use it for a fairly clean and simple card with Kraft cardstock.  The colors were perfect to use with 'Watering', a beautiful Elizabeth Bell stamp from the spring release at Belles 'n Whistles.

It is colored with prismacolors, and the background is sponged with chalks.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, have a great day!

Belles n Whistles DT call!

On Friday while checking my blog roll, I noticed that Belles 'n Whistles stamps is having a DT call, and instantly my heart started to race!  I knew I *had* to try, or I would kick myself forever!  Summer asked to see a 'fabulous' creation, and the pressure was on!  After stamping every Belles 'n Whistles stamp that I own, and several trips to the scrapbook store, I decided to use my all time favorite B&W stamp paired with this brand new paper from My Mind's Eye!

Cupcake is colored with a Prismacolor pencils, with some under-shading with Copic markers.  The papers are called 'So Sophie', by My Mind's Eye.

Here's a close-up:

I love Belles 'n Whistles stamps so much, so please cross your fingers for me!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, have a great day!

Happy Mother's Day and another Sundae challenge!

Happy Mother's Day!

Sunday already, where did the time go?  Oh right, it flew by while I was sick, blech!

Over at Paper Sundaes this week, the challenge is a sketch by Shana over at Two Cute Monsters, and our sponsor this week is Kraftin' Kimmies!  While I have several Kimmie's stamps in my stamp drawer, I felt Nadine calling me, and lucky me, I live close enough to my friend Shana that I could borrow Nadine for my card today!  She has almost every Kraftin' Kimmie stamp that there is!

Here is my take on Shana's sketch:

I can't believe I used a full dozen of my Wild Orchid flowers on this card... wow, I must really love my Mum!  LOL...  I'm trying to find the upside... I guess the sooner I run out, the sooner I can place another order and get more for my stash!  :p

Nadine is popped out of the Nestie oval using the pull through technique, and then popped up with dimensionals.  The sentiment is also popped up.

I am entering this card into 2 challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Birthdays and Celebrations
Alota Rubber challenge #34:  Flowers.

Materials used:
Stamps:  Nadine by Kraftin' Kimmies Stamps, sentiment by Inkadinkadoo
Paper:  Bo Bunny's Back to Basics
Base:  GinaK Pure Luxury Ivory
Image:  Stamped on Strathmore watercolor paper
Medium:  Distress Inks
Other:  Nesties, corner rounder, 3D pop dots, Wild Orchid Flowers, silk ribbon
