Birgitta on a Stump

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  I apologize for being such a bad blogger, I am in a cold-induced fog, and haven't been feeling up to posting or crafting.

Luckily I had colored this image up a few days before my cold hit, so I was able to whip up this card for my Paper Jewels blog DT post!

For my card, I used Birgitta on a Stump.  I will have to try to get a better picture tomorrow when there is better light!

The layout is from the current sketch at Card Positioning Systems.  I am also entering this card into the Spring Challenge at The Diedrich Dare, the 'Essentials' challenge at Crafty Cardmakers, and Creative Card Crew's challenge 'April Showers bring May Flowers'.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Don't forget that there are only 2 days left to enter the giveaways at Paper Sundaes challenge blog!  Prizes include a hAnglar stAnglar stamp, a sheet of Sweet Peas provided by Paper Jewels Stamps, and 3 different Belles n Whistles stamps provided by Summer at Belles n Whistles!

Hi, thanks for stopping by!  Today is the start of another challenge at Paper Sundaes, and this week it is a recipe challenge- 3 patterned papers, 2 colors of cardstock, and 1 flower.  Here is my card:

For this card, I used the lovely image Tilda Holding Flower.  The sentiment is from a Hanglar Stanglar stamp that we are giving away on Paper Sundaes right now, so be sure to stop by and check it out and the other prizes, if you haven't already.  Your stamp will be new though :)

The inside is decorated but I forgot to photograph it, maybe tomorrow I'll get that done and add it in.

I have been on such a Tilda kick lately... I broke out my distress inks again this week and had some fun, now I just need to get all of my Tilda's made into cards!  All I need is for an extra 8 hours in a day and I will get all caught up... in about a year!

Welcome to the Paper Sundaes Sponsor Celebration Blog Hop!

And welcome to my blog!

You should have arrived at this post from Alica's blog!  If you have just stumbled across this post by coincidence, please join us on our blog hop from the start at Paper Sundaes!

This week at Paper Sundaes, we are having a blog hop to celebrate filling our sponsor calendar for 2010!  Thanks to the hard work of my dear friend Shana, we have an amazing line up of sponsors.  You can read a full list of them on the Paper Sundaes blog.

We are also celebrating all of the wonderful challenge participants who take the time to stop by our blog and enter our challenges!  To show our appreciation, Shana and I are providing one of the prizes on this blog hop, a hAnglar & stAnglar stamp called 'Girl With Envelope'.  Since you can not buy these stamps in North America, they are very hard to get your hands on.  We also have 4 other prizes, so please stop by Paper Sundaes and hop along with us!

Since some stamps can be purchased at multiple sponsors' stores, we are not featuring individual sponsors on our hop, instead we are showing you a sampling of the many stamps that you can win or buy with our prizes!

For my cards today, I am featuring 2 different lines of stamps:  Magnolia and Elzybells.

Here is the Magnolia card, featuring Midsummer Tilda:

Here is a close-up:

And here is my Elzybells card:

Remember to leave a comment here and on each of our blogs in order to enter our draw for completing the blog hop!  There are several other ways to gain an entry, so check it out while you're there!

Since I am the last stop on our hop, if you have completed the hop be sure to enter your link into inLinkz back at Paper Sundaes for your chance to win a prize!  Thanks so much for playing along with us at Paper Sundaes!

Now that you've read all that, you can continue on your way, or read all of the challenges I am entering my cards into :D

Another CC Designs Cutie!

My card today for the Paper Jewels store blog uses a super cute stamp called Puppy Kiki by CC Designs.  This little girl reminds me so much of my little girl :)

I used the sketch from Everything But the Kitchen Sink.  Kiki is colored with Prismacolor and Koh-i-noor pencils, the papers are My Mind's Eye, and the flowers are from Wild Orchid.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Stop by the Paper Jewels Stamps blog to see new DT creations daily!

Can he fix it? Yes, he can!

This week, the challenge at Paper Sundaes is to create a card with no people.  Our sponsor this week is Meljen's Designs, and she has tons of cute stamps.  My card today features her "Beaver's Blueprints", and I created it as a Thank you card for a man.

And the inside:

The layout is from the current challenge at Friday Sketchers.

The paper is Cosmo Cricket, and Beaver's Blueprints is colored in Copics.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to stop by Paper Sundaes and check out the work by the rest of the DT.  While you're there, be sure to enter the draw for our Sponsor Celebration and Blog Hop, we are giving away hAnglar stAnglar's A Girl with Envelope as well as several other prizes!

Tea time?

As soon as I saw the current Red, Black and White challenge at Kraftin' Kimmies, I knew I wanted to use Giselle for it!  So here it is, the night before it ends, finally getting my card finished!  She's been colored for days, but sat sadly on the dining room table, waiting for me to come back to her.

I used the sketch from Card Positioning System, which not coincidentally is sponsored by Kraftin' Kimmies, for the layout.  I desperately want to win a Kraftin' Kimmies prize, the new releases are FAB!!!!!

All of the layers are distressed, and the base layer is chalked a bit with black chalk.  Giselle is colored with distress inks.  The flowers are more of my hoarded stash of Wild Orchid flowers... it hurts to use them!  lol

Since I forced myself to part with my dear flowers, I should also enter the Flowers challenge at Oh Alice.

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to check out the hAnglar stAnglar giveaway at Paper Sundaes!

Mimo with Football: Paper Jewels DT

Good morning!  Today I have a card using Bildmalarna's Mimo Football, available at Paper Jewels.

Mimo just won his first soccer game, can't you tell?  :)  I think that Mimo could also pass as a little girl soccer player if needed, by adding a nice blush to the cheeks!  I love it when stamps can do double duty.

Have you seen the new Bildmalarna summer stamps on pre-order at Paper Jewels?  They are so cute!!!  I really need Mimosa Birthday... and Tossa Paddle... and Mimosa bridge... and the fence... the cupcake... they are all so adorable!

The layout I used for this card came from the current challenge at Sketch and Stash.  I am also entering this into the Childhood Memories challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenges!  It definitely reminds me of my son, many years ago!  Also, at Roses on Paper, the current challenge is to use Layers.

If you're curious what that paper is, it's from Scrap Within Reach (I've never heard of it before, but I really like it!)  Also, Mimo was popped up with Zots pop dots, and colored with copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Window Tilda card

A reminder to anyone who stops in, right now at Paper Sundaes we are giving away a new hAnglar Stanglar stamp (the one in my blinkie in my right hand sidebar).  There are seven ways to enter, including participating in our weekly challenge.  This week the challenge is to 'Make a Scene', so for my card today, I decided to make another Magnolia scene card.  By entering our current challenge, you will automatically be entered to win a gift certificate for My Creative Classroom too!

Apparently this is my week to try new things.  On Sunday, I made a side-step card for the first time, and today I made a window card for the first time!  I used another 2 of my new stamps from Magnolia US, they are just so adorable!  I used Tilda With Eggs in her Apron on the front, but covered the eggs with flower soft for a more generic spring theme.  Inside the card (and window) I used the Magnolia Spring Background.  Both of these appear to be out of stock right now :(  Ooh, I hope Tilda doesn't spill all of those apple blossoms!

Here is a close-up:

I definitely need to keep playing with the distress inks, I have lots of room for improvement!

Here is the inside:

Materials used:
Stamps:  Magnolia- Tilda with Eggs in her Apron, Spring Background
Ink- Versafine
Medium- Distress Re-inkers
Paper- PTI CS, American Crafts DP
other:  Flower soft, Basic Grey pearls, unknown mini flowers, nestabilities

I am entering this card into a few challenges:
The layout is from the current sketch at Magnolia-licious Highlights by Claudia Rosa.
Magnolia Stamp Lovers- Scene card
Totally Gorjuss- Texture (flowersoft)
Papertake Weekly- Cutie Pie

Thanks for stopping by!

Making a Scene! Paper Sundaes DT

Over at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog, the challenge starting today is to Make A Scene!  Our sponsor this week is My Creative Classroom.  They offer all sorts of classes including coloring, copics, and many more.

For my scene, I decided to make a Side Step card for the first time!

I used a brand new background stamp from Magnolia US that just came, and paired it with a Tilda Magnolia stamp and a mushroom accessory stamp from the CC Designs spring kit.  The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp.

You can see the dimension a bit better here:

All images are colored with distress inks.  Cardstock is PTI, and I didn't use any patterned paper... shocking for me!

I am entering this into a few challenges:
Roses on Paper:  Layers (layers of images)
Quixotic Challenges:  Joys of Spring
Oh Alice:  Use flowers
The Pink Elephant:  Nature

I hope you will play along with this week's Paper Sundaes challenge!

While you are at Paper Sundaes, make sure you check out our Blog Sponsor Celebration post for your chance to win a hAnglar stAnglar stamp!

Pretty in Pink

A few months ago an online friend came to town with all of her stamps and Shana, Jenny and I had a stamping day, it was so much fun!  Jenny has such a fantastic collection of stamps, I could have spent an entire week stamping with them!   Since then, Jenny has opened up her own online stamp shop called Paper Jewels, so if you haven't checked them out yet, you really should!!  During our stamping date I stamped several of her Inky Impression stamps but hadn't gotten around to using one yet until tonight!

I used Fairy Lily and the current sketch from Card Positioning Systems.  I also fit in a few other challenges including the photo inspiration challenge at the Diedrich Dare (I just went with the differnt shades of pinks), the Shiny People challenge at PaperPlay Challenges, and the Mono Mania challenge at Cute Card Thursday.

Lili is popped up from the base of the card as you can see here:

The paper is My Mind's Eye, the nestie is Fancy Tags, the Ribbon is from May Arts, and the jewels are from Basic Grey.  Lili is colored with my Koh-i-noor's and Prismacolors.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you check out Paper Sundaes this weekend for a special announcement!

Cheery Cherry Emma

Another Thursday, the weeks are flying by so fast!  I wish I could slow spring and summer down a bit!

Today I have a card that I made for the Paper Jewels blog using one of the new CC Designs stamps that Jenny sells in her store, Paper Jewels.  This little girl is called Cherry Emma.  I used the new Crate Papers again, I just love the bright colors!

Cherry Emma was colored with Copics.  The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch, and the ribbon was 'borrowed' from my best friend :D  Remind me, hun... I bought a replacement for you!  The circle and label are both from Spellbinders.

The layout from my card is from the current challenge at Friday Sketchers, ending tonight.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  And thanks to all my readers for their lovely comments, I read them all!

Don't miss some exciting candy news coming soon!!!  Ooh, I wish I could say more!

Patchwork Plaid Pure Innocence

Today was the first day back to school for my kids, yay!  It's great having them home, but great to have them back at school!  :D

I made a patchwork card today for a challenge at the My Favorite Things blog, using some old My Mind's Eye papers from my stash.  I used one of my Pure Innocence girls who had not been inked up yet.

She is colored with my Prismacolor pencils, and the background was done with chalks.  The curly paper ribbon (Doublemates cardstock) was formed by wetting the paper then winding it around a blending stump and letting it dry.

This little girl swinging makes me long for the grass to turn green and summer to arrive!

I love using kraft paper with these Pure Innocence Girls, so I was thrilled when I spotted the current challenge at Crazy 4 challenges, which is to make a card with a kraft base!

At The Pink Elephant, the current challenge is to feature nature or something that can be seen in nature.

Also, at Stamptacular Sunday, the current challenge is "Sugar and Spice and Everything nice"- to make a girly card, which this definitely is!

I am also entering this card into the "Pink somethings" challenge at Stamp Something, and into the "April Showers" weather challenge at Raising the Bar, since this card clearly shows a beautiful summer day :D

Thanks for stopping by today!

Paper Sundaes Challenge #12 DT card

Good morning and Happy Easter!  I am sure that by the time you read this, my kids will be holed up somewhere with big chocolate smiles on their faces and a basket of melting chocolate in each of their laps!

This week at Paper Sundaes we are sponsored by Stamp and Create, in honour (yes, I'm Canadian, that's how we spell honour!!  lol) of their Wags 'n Whiskers new release.  They are providing a fantastic prize!  Two stamps of your choice from the new Wags 'n Whiskers sports release, AND a $15 gift certificate!  Isn't that fantastic?  Wouldn't you like to win?  All you have to do is play along and maybe you will be the lucky person drawn by!

This week Paper Sundaes has a sketch challenge, featuring a sketch by little ol' me!  So if you like it, yay!  And if you hate it, don't tell me!

For my card today, I used Water Babe from the new Wags 'n Whiskers release... Isn't she adorable?!

I am entering this card into two challenges:

Stamptacular Sunday:  Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

Cupcake Inspiration: Challenge #53

Edited to add:  The paper is the new Crate paper, you'll be seeing this again soon :)

I hope you will join us at Paper Sundaes this week!  Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Jewels Bildmalarna Easter

Hippity Hoppity, Easter's on it's Way!!

I am just now getting in the Easter mood... time to get out the eggs to decorate and do some shopping and food prep!

My card today uses the super cute stamp aptly called "Easter Bunny" by Bildmalarna, you can find it at Paper Jewels online store.  They now carry several different brands of stamps including Sweet Peas, CC designs, and Bildmalarna.  As soon as I saw this little guy, I knew I had to have him!

For the layout, I used the current sketch from Sketch and Stash.  The flowers are from my precious collection of Wild Orchid flowers that I am hoarding!  The buttons are from my massive button collection, I have a 2 litre jar that is over half full!

I am also entering this into the Charisma Cardz challenge:  Animal Magic!

Are you all ready for Easter?  Any special plans?

Thanks for stopping by today!
