Paper Sundaes Challenge #7 DT card

Thanks for stopping by today!

My card today features an image from our sponsor, The Stamping Boutique, called AJ the Race Car Driver.  As soon as I saw him, I knew he was the guy for me ;)  I always seem to struggle with boys and mens cards.  I needed one for a birthday last week and I had NONE in my stash!  So I decided that I need to push myself out of my girlie comfort zone more often!

This image can be used for so many different occasions, birthdays, congratulations, job well done, etc!

The sketch is by my dear friend Shana, and I love this layout!  I hope you will stop by Paper Sundaes and play along with our sketch challenge for your chance to win 5 digital stamps from the Stamping Boutique!

I am entering this card into just one challenge this week, Quixotic Challenges- One for the Boys.

Happy Sunday!

Girl power!!

If you're Canadian and a fan of the Olympics, you know that yesterday was a great day!  Our women won 4 medals!  Gold and silver in Bobsleigh, silver in speedskating team relay, and bronze for speedskating.  Girl power!! :D

I did manage to get a bit of work done while I was cheering our girls on... I finished up a card that had been in the works for a few days.  I used another paper pieced Pure Innocence stamp from MFT, I just love them!!

I used the current sketch layout from Sketch Saturday, but rotated it 90 degrees. The DP panels are My Mind's Eye, and are stitched.  The cardstock is DoubleMates, light pink on one, and the darker on the other.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Loving the Pure Innocence stamps!

Last month I finally gave in and bought several Pure Innocence girls to play with, they are just so cute!!

I have several Pure Innocence cards in the works.  This particular one uses My Balloon.  Isn't she so sweet?  Her dress is paper pieced with my new favorite paper by Pink Paislee.  The sewing is done by hand since I still haven't resolved my sewing machine issues!  LOL  This fits perfectly with the Paper Piecing challenge at Stamped by Hand, with an extra entry for using a MFT stamp!  :)

The layout is from the current sketch challenge at Stamp With Fun.  I am also entering this card into the recipe challenge at Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog (3 types of embellies- button, ribbon, brads; 2 patterned papers; 1 image).  A few more challenges that I am entering this into: Stamp Something- a touch of Spring, Pals Paper Arts- Keep it simple sweetie, The Pink Elephant- ribbon, and If the Shoe Fits, Scrap it!- Mad for Plaid.

My card today was an anniversary card for a friend of mine.  I used a Sugar Nellie stamp I won from their wonderful Advent calendar give-away, called "Happily Ever After".  I followed the current sketch challenge over at the Sugar Bowl Challenge blog.

A Valentine for My Daughter

OK, I admit it, this card gave me fits!  First I decided the image wasn't quite right, then the papers... in other words, I started over from scratch!  LOL... But in the end, I am thrilled with how it turned out!

If only I could find nail polish in that button's shade of Robin's egg blue!  :)

Here is a close-up:

I even did up the inside!    (warning, bad photo ahead!)

And it only took me 2 days of cutting, painting, and starting all over again from scratch!  :D

I'd love to hear what you think, after all that angst!

I am entering this into a few challenges:  The layout is from the current sketch challenge at Roses On Paper.  At Ilona's Shop Blog, the current challenge is Love and Hearts.  At Just Magnolia, the challenge is to use flowers and hearts.  At Color Throwdown, the color challenge this week is Soft Sky, Pink Pirhouette and Kraft.  Finally, the challenge at Magnolia Stamp Lovers is Buttons or Bows or Both.

I have another card for later this morning, I hope you'll come back!
